My air conditon fan is running very slow, do I need to change motor.
My air conditon fan motor shuts off and the motor is very hot to touch. I can here the hum sound then I will shut the power supply off, hoping this will reset it self. I turn ot back on after several hours, and the humming sound continue but the fan is not moving. I will help the fan by using a stick to turn the blades, and the fan will start, but turn at a slow speed. Do I need to change out the motor...

Is the compressor running at the time you are trying to get the fan motor to run? If not you probably need to replace capicitor

OK, shame to spend good money if its not needed,, make sure the capicitor matches bothe ,the requirements for the compressor and the new motor,, most times we buy a seporate capacitor one small one just for the motor
