    Really bad nappy rash
My 17 month old rarely gets nappy rashes but whenever he is ill he gets diarrhea which gives him a really bad nappy rash. Today it is so bad that it looks like a burn and the skin has broken and the broken areas look shiny like it is going to weep. I usually put Sudocream (Antiseptic Healing Cream) on but it doesn't seem to help. It's a weekend so I can't go and see a doctor until tomorrow. Any suggestions anyone?

Try and expose his bum to the air for as much as possible until you get to a doctor.

If he wee's or poo's rince his bum under the shower and pat dry,try not to rub the broken skin any more then you have too.

Check out local chemist in your area, there is usually one open on a Sunday, speak with the pharmacist about other creams or child safe pain killers for him, example calpol or nurofen for children.

One of my favorites is baking soda. Simple baking soda sprinkled on a rash really helps.
