My 4 year old has not seen her father in almost 4 years and my husband want to adoot her.. My daughters father does not paid child support.. Do I need his permission for my husband to adopt her or is there anyway to get around it.. Or can I just file abandmont charges on him..

If there is a child support order have you taken him back to court for non payment or turned it over to child support enforcement for your state /

In many states abandomont is merely non payment of court ordered support and does not take his rights away, merely gets it criminal not civil

But you will need his permission, or prove to court it is in child's best interest.
