Careers that produce or work with a tangible object
I want to know about careers that call on someone to deal with quickly changing situations and problem solving but that also produces a tangible object or deals with a tangible thing.

    Hi, juliejims!

People involved in service types of industries might have those types of careers. But, without narrower specifics from you, it's difficult to address what you're wanting to know.

    Thanks!

I recently paid a large sum to have my teenage daughter apptitude tested as she is going to need to choose a college in 3 years.

She was told she has apptitudes in many areas but some she can ignor, others she can't. The apptitudes she can not ignor are as follows:

    1) She must work in something which produces a tangible thing or works with a tangible thing or she will not be happy long term. She can not be a phylosopher or psychologist (Deal in thoughts and ideas= intangible).

She could be documentary film maker (produces a documentary=tangible) or be a psychiatrist (deals with treating the physical brain=tangible). She enjoys photography so we are contemplating film making or photo journalism.

    2) She needs something that gives her a variety of situations that require her to use considerable problem solving skills or she becomes bored. She is a good soccer player because it contains dynamic changing situations on the field where she has to learn to pick up and pass off the ball in the most strategic way. She needs a career like that. She would not make a good lawyer, or accountant as it is repetitive and based on intangible things.

    3) She needs to be an expert in something. There is something out there that, when she finds it, she will be passionately interested in it long term. She needs to become an expert in that skill or subject.

These are the most important pieces. I am just trying to find possible options. It is her decision about what she should do in the end.
