    Whirlpool Dryer RED HOT!
This is probably normal, but I've never seen it until this morning. Whirlpool Supreme Electric dryer - while running I happened to turn off the lights and noticed a red glow coming from the back of the unit reflecting off the wall. There's a glow on the lower right hand side near the floor and I can also see what appears to be red coils when looking down into the back of the unit. Is this normal? Thanks in advance.

Depending on how your dryer is designed it is probably the heating coil unit you are seeing. In most driers there is a metal housing (typically about 6-7" wide, 4-5" deep, and about 20" or so long) that contains the heating coil. This will glow bright red when it is ON. I would expect that in the dark you could see some light reflecting from it. Make sure that your lint filter is clean at all times, and make sure that there is nothing flammable near the rear of the drier. If you are concerned that there is something really wrong have an electrician look at it. Perhaps call your power company and they could recommend someone to look at it.
