According to the department of labor -- is it illegal to with hold varience (shorts in a cash drawer) from an employees paycheck? Since this is a Native American enity, are they exempt in any way?

It's not Department of Labor. It's a violation of employment law. However, I have NO idea whether white mans law has any bearing on a sovereign nation. I can't believe it does.
