My lease expired 8 years ago and was never renewed. Can my landlord still require a 90 day notice in Minnesota

If the former lease required a 90 day notice then yes, the landlord can require it. That's because when a lease expires, if a new one is not signed then you continue as a month-to-month tenant but the terms of the original lease still apply.

If the former lease did not require a 90 day notice then the landlord can not require one now.
