    Changing names on a deed
My parents want to leave the home in my name. How do I do this without a lawyer?

A lawyer is not required to make a will. If your parents estate is simple they can make a simple will.

Or, as I read the question, execute a deed granting the property to OP.

The operative word here is "leave". That implied to me that the OP's parents want to him to have the home after their death. Otherwise he would have said give him the home.

Gifting or selling a home by changing title may have tax implications or affect an existing mortgage.

One difficult aspect of this forum is trying to guess how much people who ask questions know and understand.

One would think that if OP knows enough to use "leave" in that sense, he or she would already be familiar with the concept of a will. But who knows?
