I am building a two story 1900 SF house. The builder is using a 90+ Goodman Furnace with once large truck line through a first floor soffit. He is heating the second floor with floor vents and ceiling cold air returns and the first floor with ceiling vent and foor cold air returns. Is this acception job? I was under the impression that ceing vents were not good for heat, just A/C.

You are already second guessing the contractor. Get a second LOCAL opinion since local circumstances and conditions change from area to area. Look at the link tips.

Thank you for your input. I have been a journeyman plumber in Ohio for 46 years a foremen for a 50 man plumbing company for 30 years ( now retired). We specialized in seven figure homes and I can never remember ceiling heats in a house except in a finished basement. This house is being built in a development by a builder with his own sub trades, we are too far along in the process to stop building without a large financial loss, and am not getting explanations from the builder and heating contracter that satisfy me, so I am looking for someone impartial to advise me, which I know is difficult without seeing the job. Just looking for a opinion.

My house is a single level with discharge at the ceiling and intake (return air) at the floor. It works fine since it was designed to work that way.
