Was the capicitor an exact match to what the motor called for?
Was motor installed right? 230V and not 120V, of power,I`ve seen both happen
Was it the right 230 V motor and not a 120 volt?
Not being there these are just guesses
Couldn't figure out how to add to my question. Apparently it was the RPMs. They were too high on the new motor. As for why the original one went out, who knows? But we got one with the right RPMs. The guy from the hvac place was going to charge $500 to put a new one in, but we got one from the supply place for around $100.
