Sounds like she's in labor. Just let her wander around if she wants to, she may decide to give birth somewhere other than in the box. Keep an eye on her for signs of distress. Otherwise, just let nature take care of itself.

Hi, she had blood mucus this morning at 9.30 and when she lays down her spine looks arched and her back looks like its spreading but she is still eating and not panting or anything, its her second litter, she has had few bloody mucus discharges sine which I'm wiping away, is there anything I can do to help her speed it up

Is she contracting? The first kitten should come within an hour or so after the contractions start.

After this, you need to seriously consider getting her fixed. Each litter a cat has shortens their life.

She's had a litter before, you said, so the less you do, the better off she will be. You can't "speed this up." It has to happen in its own time. She sounds comfortable enough. Keep watch, but don't annoy her.

And PLEASE, get her spayed when she has weaned her babies.

Be sure to let us know how the birth is going. And we LOVE photos of kittens!

Is she thrashing around or lying there comatose or does she just seem like she's waiting?

Just waiting looking uncomfortable, still eating etc OK. Really strange, just hoping her plug will come out soon or waters will break, she is not miking any noises,

I'd sit tight yet if I were you. Go about your normal business. Where are you -- in the UK or Canada? (I'm wondering about the time where you are.) Meanwhile, I'll PM hheath, our Cat expert.

If she's not contracting, then the kittens aren't ready to be born, yet. Labor can start long before contractions and the kittens start being born. A lot of cats wait until the middle of the night to give birth, even if labor starts before that.

As long as she doesn't seem to be in distress, just let her be. Cats can stop labor if they feel unsafe or you bother them too much. Just give her the time and space she needs. Take a deep breath, stop fussing so much, and remember that her body will take care of the entire process even if you're not there.

Hi, my cat has been purring a lot and her belly has been pushing down and meowing a lot and she woke me up at early morning and went in her birth place and she is is still meowing and purring a lot while I'm typing here. Can you please help because my mum won't do anything and never had cats. Or I think the cats are moving in her belly but it is very painful for her and she is also breathing fast.

    Thanks
