If you want to look like a traveller with little respect for your personal appearance then go for it.

My friend had dreads in high school. Not easy to keep clean, and it usually ends up looking like a rats nest. In fact, I seem to remember some insect making a nest in his hair, but that might have just been lice.

It's a great look for a beach bum, so if that's what you're going for, go all out. :)

Why not? Dread locks were "in" when Rick James was famous.
