I don't know much, if not at all, about neurology, but it would be better if you had a more specific question. Knowing that in pharmacology, many many chemicals are involved in the treatment of problems dealing with nerves, the question you asked is too vague, there's too much to tell about.

Look at some common neurological problems. Find what chemicals are used to treat them. I don't think this is only relevant to the nerves, but also the brain. Look at how nerves in general function. You will find that they communicate using an electro-chemical combination. Depression is one for instance. It is a chemical imbalance brought about in the brain, it can be corrected by fixing the imbalance.
