    Galvanized to plastic
Is there a plastic product that I can use to tap into main galvanized waterline for an irrigation an irrigation project?

Pretty hard to insert plastic into galvanized. Best bet is to put a galvanized "T" and then a barbed fitting for Poly or a pipe thread PVC fitting. How big is the "main galv line". If you have a pipe union in the line it's very easy.

There are some special shark bite fittings which can work, otherwise you have to thread. Best to have the male end on the plastic side.

There are ways without tapping the galvanized. This is one of them: http://www.cimberiovalve.com/downloa...l_brochure.pdf

    I believe there are others.

    Hi all:

For an irrigation system you could also consider installing a double strap service saddle... see image.

You drill a correctly sized hole into the galvanized pipe and then install the female tapped saddle valve. Install a male threaded plastic adapter and pipe as needed.

These valves are usually only found at water service supply companies or online at places like:

    ROMAC | Service Saddles

Any questions on use... let me know.
