I work in a family care home and there are 2 sex offenders that live there. What are the rules for them being around childern? Some of the people that work there have childern

And while I might misunderstand what you are trying to say... what does the fact employees that work there having kids have to do with the fact that residents there are registered sex offenders. I don't see any connection. They live there, if you decide to work there it's a workplace... not a child care facility for you. They might not be allowed to move next door to a school, but conversely they don't have to move just because someone with kids moves next door to them.

What I'm trying to say is we need the situation clarified a bit more.

Also rules on registered sex offenders vary by location. ANY question about law needs to include a general area because of that.

Unless the employees bring their kids to work (and why would they knowing registered offenders work there), that employees have children has no bearing.

If, however, children are brought to the home for care, that could be an issue, but why would such a place hire registered offenders?

In NY it depends on what level the sex offender is -

In this case its not upon the Offenders who belong there, as in they legally reside there, it falls upon the employees who are creating that situation by bringing their kids there to remove their children from it.

If the employees are aware of the status, then they are making a conscious decision to ignore the dangers. So this has nothing to do with the rules for offenders. They aren't approaching children, children are being placed near them.

These employees are actually being unfair to the offenders and they are the ones at fault.

As I said - I think it goes back to the level of the offense which points toward what the offense was (at least in NY).

I believe it all depends on the actual crime they committed. Where these crimes against children?
