I have a boyfriend/fiancee who will be moving into my house. No date for wedding has been set. If the relationship goes south, can he claim squatters rights after some period? What must I do to protect myself if I should want him to move out?

There is no such thing as squatters rights any longer. Even if there were it applies to abandoned property. However, what WILL happen is that he will establish residency, once he makes your home his official address (gets mail there, changes his ID over, etc.). What this means, is that you can't force him to leave without notice. He will be considered a month to month tenant (even though he doesn't pay rent or have a lease). You then have to give him one month's notice if you want him to leave. If he refuses to leave, you will need to formally evict him.
