    Can a credit card company debit your checking without your consent
    Received a letter saying are checking account will be debited 411.00 for a credit card they sent a letter saying we authorized this transaction but neither my husband or I authorized this my husband was out of town and they never called me and I don't give info over the phone for our checking

    Yes, assuming the credit card and chequing account are with the same company.
    It's known as off Setting.

    If you obtained the card from the same bank, the fine print often allows them to debit your checking or savings for a delinquent credit card balance.

    However, if they are not the same bank, then no. Tell your bank that you have not authorized this transaction and ask the card company to provide proof that you did.
