    Can you run a fridge without and earth wire
    I have a big whirlpool fridge freezer and the elc trip so I checked the fuses in the trip box all OK when I disconnected the earth from the fridge it works but when the earth is connected it trips please help

    I May work, but also may be LIVE,
    If a hot was touching ground in the unit it would trip the breaker, removing the ground allows it to remain LIVE without tripping.
    VERY Dangerous.
    May not be that bad of a fix, a wirenut maybe, compressor?
    A meter will likely show voltage on the refrigerator case to a known good ground.
    A Tech may use a Meter set on continuity, and start disconnecting wires to determine the location of the Short.
