Hello I need your help. Me and my boyfriend had sex last night while I'm on my period and when we finished he saw that I had a blood clott on the bed. Could you tell me why that could be.

I was clotting a little bit after sex while on my period.

Clots during your cycle are normal... you have to understand that before your period the uterus builds a lining in the inside.. and when a fertilized egg doesn't implant that lining sheds.. its just a bunch of tissue and blood that comes out.. so what you are seeing is normal... its just portions of the lining coming out but if you are concerned you can visit your OB and have a chat with them

For an accurate diagnosis go to your doctor or a well women's clinic, I would get it checked it pays to be safe, you may have had what's known as a missed miscarriage.

Basically what that is is a pregnancy that hasn't taken.

Or it my be nothing, if in doubt find out.

To the op, what is your 'normal' period like?
Is this the first time you've had sex on your period?
Do you use contraceptives/birth control?

It likely is simply due to your period... and when you mix semen with it as well, clots are even more likely to be noticed.

As others have said, if it causes you concern, speak to your doctor about it.
