Can a probation term be violated without dna sample due to medical reason?
A friend of mine was placed on summary probation for 3 years in California and had to travel after sentencing without the dna sample or booking. He got sick overseas and unable to come for over one year. Would he be violated of probation even if he has the medical record stating the reason why he could not travel during his sickness?
    Please advice.

    Hello:

If he was in the hospital for the year, MAYBE they won't violate him... Other than that, I think he'll be violated. I don't know what DNA you're talking about or what booking...

Did he have permission to travel overseas?? I'll bet not.

Did he notify the probation department of his location when he did not return for a year? If not, then he's violated.
