Being in hospital isn't one Exy?

I would think surgery or severe illness would be a legal reason to miss work. Isn't it?

    Hello Alty:

No. Those are GOOD reasons to miss work. But, they're not LEGAL reasons.

Yes, the law in the US nationally only relates that a company has to let people off for those reasons.

** and workers comp, a employee injured on the job has to be allowed off to doctors recommendation

There may be some state laws that I am not aware of.
Most are allowed by company policy, most are done as normal, but I could start a company and state that no one can miss one day of work or be fired, and there is nothing illegal about it.

Jury duty, Military service, work related injury (Workers Comp offers some protection)
