    Love at a young age
Is it possible to fall in love with somebody at a relatively young age? I'm 16 now and I'm not sure whether this is true love or just obsession or desire to be with this person, as I haven't had any experience of real love before. I'd be very grateful for some answers as this has been bothering me for some time. Thanks.

I don't think you're too young! Who knows, this might be true love :)
    Hope that Helped!
    Good luck ;)

    Thanks :)
The thing is, I don't want to love him. We were in a long-distance relationship last year which ended in around January because of another girl, who went to his school. Obviously, the distance wouldn't have helped at all. I'd just like to know if I could be in love with him and if so, how to forget him and move on...

It is part of the learning process we all go through learning what love is... and isn't.
A strong attraction or obsession is often mistaken for love when you don't have much experience with love.

I think it takes knowing someone a long time to truly know if you love each other.
That's why we date and spend time WITH the person to learn this.

I have little faith in long distance relationships because you can't know how this person really acts. Only how they say they do.
    Seeing is believing.

And when love comes your way for real, I think you know.

    I wish you well

Do you want the scientific answer, or the answer from a woman that was 16 at one time? ;)

I'll give you the second. :)

At 16 you're still a fairly young teen, and falling in and out of love at the drop of a hat is normal. It's not really love, it is obsession, infatuation, and believe me, when you really do fall in love, you'll see that the other times you thought you were, you really weren't at all.

It's not an easy time. Being 16 sucks in a lot of ways. You're not a child anymore, but you're not an adult. You want to experience love, but it's not realistic. This too shall pass.

The fact that you yourself have doubts, that speaks volumes. You sound like a very level headed person, and because of that, I'm going to tell you something I don't normally tell teens. Go with your heart, go with your gut, and use your head.

When you do meet Mr. Right, you'll probably be a lot older, and you'll know that it's real love. There will be no question.

Well I know a couple that has been together for 20 years actually they started dating when they were 16 years old. There's a possibility for love to happen at a young age but the chances are so slim.. it's hopes and dreams but anyone can find that person that they just click with :D

    You are correct.

    Well said.

Mature answer shows you are truly thinking about this. That is great.
