    Bonita--
Fianancial aid for college student in Ontario.
I just turned 21 years old and I'm a full time college student and will be going to university after I graduate college. I live alone with my dad and I have since I was 8. My dad lost his job late last year, and he is unable to work now because he found out he has an aneurysm and also needs surgery on his spine. He has been trying to get unemployment but they are giving him a hard time and he will most likely go on disability or even welfare. He has $0 in his savings, we basically have absolutely no income right now until he gets help from either unemployment, disability or welfare. Our rent is about $800 a month so once they do give him money he's only going to have enough to pay rent and maybe his car insurance, that's about it.

So I'm going to school in September and I really need help with money. I can only work part time when I'm in school and my dad obviously will not be able to help me at all. I have some money in the bank but not enough to pay car insurance, gas, food, clothes and necessities every month.

My mom is with CPP disability because she is bi polar and she says she can't work. She told me that CPP might give me $200 a month if I'm in school but I don't know if they will accept me because I don't live with her. If they do not accept me is there any other way I can receive some kind of financial aid?

The College you are presently attending is the best source of info about loans, grants and aid.

    Bonita--

OK, thank you. Do you know if welfare helps students? I really don't know much about it.
