Well Im just speaking from experience and I hope this helps. Well If you don't really talk to him then start to . Don't be shy. Shyness will just keep you from the things you want. If you guys do know each other well then ask him if he wants to hang out sometime. Maybe ask if he wants to go see a movie or something like that . Take him somewhere where you guys can be alone, maybe the park . Maybe you won't be as shy when you two are alone , Because if you tell him at school then his friends would be around or yours and maybe that is why its less comfortable. Well to get to the point just ask him if he wants to hang out, just be yourself and don't let the shyness get in the way. It worked for me hopefully it works for you.

Sometimes when your shy with things like this, sometimes being around close friends helps you deal with shyness, try going on a double date with one of your friends or close friends and their partner. As for getting to talk to him, just get him to notice you, see if he you looks at you when your not looking. You just got to face it and inside just keep telling yourself you can do it because you can. Hope you the best!
