Potential employer checked my references, now what?
I had a job interview about two weeks ago. At the time, I was told that they wanted someone to start right away. My job interview went Great and they actually started checking my references the next day! Well, I didn't know it at the time, but they were unable to immediately reach one of my references (he was out of the office). However, last week (about a week after the interview) she called me and asked me to call him. I did, and t hey were able to reach him the next day (last Tuesday August 3rd). I then followed-up on Thursday and contacted the manager that interviewed me, and expressed continued interest in the position. I was told at that time, "I did everything I needed to do and sent the information to HR". What exactly does this mean? I am fearful that it means I did not get the position as the manager did not clearly state otherwise. Please advise. What would HR need to do with the information at this time?
