I have a grand child who sleeps 2 hours and stays awake 22 hours.
My grand child sleeps 2 hours and stays awake for 22 hours. Her mother has talked to doctor and he gave her some things to try but nothing is working.I've seen on TV (health chan) something about children who do not sleep but can't remember what they found out to solve the problem. I'm trying to reserch this problem. If anyone has any ideas I (we) sure could knews the help.

How old is the child? Is this a new development or something that the child has always done?

"This go-round"? How often does it happen and for how long each time? Is there something going on in the household, like a working parent who changes shifts?

This started back in nov. she did take a 3hour sleep 9hour wake 3 weeks back The only changed that we could come up with her older sister got married and she leaves for the weekend to visit with her hubby otherwise she is here going to school and stays with her mom. But can that up set a child to this point?

No, that shouldn't do it, I wouldn't think. Is the baby on some sort of schedule of feedings and naps? Is the baby given alone time in its bed even if it just plays?

She was on one before this happened. She takes a short nap in her sisters room. All sweets were taken away. She drinks only water and juices. She eats well. And the thing is she is on full throttle the whole time she's awake.Thats what get me. It's like her adrenalin is on full speed. (sorry for the misspell).
