My boyfriend was caught with two onzes of cannabis but one was for himself as he buys it to last him a month and the other was for a friend of his but no money was exchanged. When the police came to search our flat they found arounf 10g of MDMA but again this was my boyfriends personal use as I know that he has a drug problem with this what are the chances that he could go to prison and what are the chances he will get a non-custodial sentence, this is his first drug offence.

Just being in possession of illegal drugs is just that - possession. It makes no sense to say that this was for someone else. The cops don't care. The Judge doesn't care. He was in possession of all the drugs period. Personal use is a term of the uninformed.

He could do jail time with probation added on. This would all be contingent upon his previous record.
