Bug bites... without the bugs and/or bites
For the past 4-6 months I've been feelin' like I'm constantly gettin' bitten by bugs all over my arms, torso and legs.....altho I never seem to have any bite marks on me...nor do I ever see any bugs on me or in my home. I've tried doin' a search online but I basically came up empty handed, totally frustrated, and feelin' like I must be losin' my mind. I just hadda physical w/bloodwork and the results were nuthin' outta the ordinary. Does anyone have any ideas about what this might be? I'm stumped!

Could be irritation or allergies too. Have you changed detergents recently or soaps that you are using? Is your skin starting to dry out?

Or perhaps medications in the last 4-6 months.

Have you been to a dermatologist?

I get this every summer, the dry air makes my skin very dry and it feels exactly like bug bites, itchy, irritated, just not fun.

Sadly we can only guess, we can't give you a diagnosis.

You've been to the doctor, so you've taken the necessary steps. Did you mention the feeling of bug bites to your doctor? Did they take skin scraping?

Is there any sort of rash? Is it itchy, or do you just feel like you're being bitten?

This needs to be investigated further, by a professional. We can't do tests, and that's what needs to be done.

In the meantime, try vitamin E cream. I swear by that stuff. You can buy it in most pharmacies, or Walmart, London Drugs if you're in Canada (I don't think they have London Drugs in the states). It's pretty inexpensive, and I use it every day.

You do need to make another appointment with your doctor though, as for a consult with a dermatologist.
