If you have experience then you might want to make posters for your church or ask your parents where it might be good to advertise. Another thing is to play it safe. Get some red cross training that is available to babysitters so you have and know the rules of safety and emergency help for the child your watching. You never want to freak out when your watching someone else's child.

What about doing light housework or yard work for neighbors, especially elderly ones?

What about being a mother's helper for a woman at home all summer with her children?

Since you do go to church it's a great place to advertise. Since most would be in your area. But have your parents check out anyone before you babysit for them. Play it safe.
