    Lien on House
One of our past clients has owed us money since August 2006. I would really like to collect the money but she won't pay. The first time she paid she wrote us a bad check, now we can't seem to collect the money because she has none in the acct. I want to file a lien on her house, how do I do that?

You will have to take them to court and obtain a judgment against them before that can happen.

Once you OBTAIN a judgment you can attach their assets.

Also it depends on the nature of the debt. Most places do not allow placing a lien on a home to collect unsecured debt. And even if you do get the lien, the only thing it does is get you paid when they sell the home, You won't be able to force the sale.
