I have a default judgemtn from the Superior court of nJ. The debtor filed bankruptcy in NY . He listed it as a "no assets" case. I just found out from the court that the trustee found assets and now the bankruptcy is in dispute.
How does my NJ default judgement come into play? The trustee knows I have a default judgement as I gave him the judgement when I attended the creditor's meeting. . There is one other judgement listed from Chase Bank for $230,000 but it is listed as a "co-debtor". Mine is for $125,000.

Was your claim listed correctly and as uncontested by the debtor? If not, be sure you file a proof of claim. Just because the trustee knows about your judgment doesn't mean you will get paid.

For that kind of money, now that assets have been located, you would be foolish not to consult a bankruptcy attorney to maximize your recovery. The first thing I would do, if I were representing you, would be look into Chase Bank's claim.

Yes--there are other debts. This was filed as a "no assets" case and now that they found assets , the court clerk told me the bankruptcy was in dispute. I guess I wanted to know if my judgement took a priority over the debts that do not have a judgement.
I will contact the court tomorrow and find out if they will be sending creditors letters to file a claim.
I was going to file a claim to reverse the discharge of the debt due to fraud, but now I don't know what to do.
The FBI have been investigating him for my debt. Other debts and for other securities fraud. And I believe this is how they found the assets since the creditors meetimg was just July 20, There is no way he could provide all those bank statements in 10 days that the trustee asked for after I told the trustee I had been contacted by Federal authorities.
I don't know if my judgement means anything right now / I am a little confused.

Yes-- the debt was listed correctly and unconmteted by the debtor.
