We live about 2 hours apart; he and his son temporarily have been living with his mother. We have been dating for a year now. He has been separated for 3 years and his divorce was final about 8 months ago. I have no lease on my townhome and he will be moving soon so I suggested that we move in together considering that he is currently unemployed. He said that he is not ready for that. I have been contemplating moving closer to him. Is there a futrue with this man?

I think its too soon to say.

I don't think its unreasonable for him not to move in just yet,he has a son,your still getting to know each other,moving in together is a huge step.

Take your time as he is taking his,there is no rush to share the sugar bowl,and he has a lot to consider,i.e. his son.

He most likely would want to find work and set up on his own for a while before taking a step into shared living.

Unemployed and not ready to jump into free rent.

Pride, and integrity . Nothing wrong with that.

His divorce is pretty recent, let him sort his life out, get a job and settle in his new life. And don't make yourself too available - he is unemployed, and you're basically offering him a free ride, willing to move closer, etc. to him while he doesn't even want it.
