My results from a coploscopy came back as low to medium, what does that mean?
I just got my test resluts back from my colposcopy. The doctor told me that it was low to medium. The test was for hpv. What do my results mean? And also, if I have a low reading, can my husband make it worse when I have sex with him? Or does it just go away with no treatment? Can anybody give me as much information that they can, because I am so lost and I can not find the answers to my questions anywhere online! Please someone help me.

Every woman has the opportunity to have access to good medical advice; every woman should know more about her body then anyone else. The opportunity is there but you missed out when you forgot to ask questions after a test like this. You were tested because you had a pap test and it showed to be abnormal, and the abnormality was hpv. I hope you got that far. I have no idea what the doctor meant by 'low to medium', at that point you should have asked him what this meant, not ask us.

Everyone is different during medical procedures and we can't diagnose, or tell you what your doctor intended for further treatment. It is up to you to find out what you have to do, where and when.

As for sex with your husband, ask your doctor that too.

I am not being un-cooperative, steph, I just want you to ask your doctor any questions if you are not sure of what transpired. In any event, you can't make a mountain out of a mole hill, you can't feel lost, and you can find answers on the net. All you have to do is enter 'colposcopy'. I want YOU to read up on it, not us inform you. That is the only way you will be in control of your own health.

    Ms tickle,
All I know is that my doc told me to come back in jan. to have another pap. Then he hung uo on me. I just wanted to further learn more about it and what happened when you are diagnosed with hpv. I know what hpv is but I don't know what happens when you get it. So that is why I am asking on here. Maybe someone would have even a partial answer for me that I was not finding. But thank you anyway. Your answer did not help very much

Tickle was correct -- you need to ask your doctor. Call him back. Does he have a nurse who will answer your questions?

I Googled "hpv" (without the quote marks) and found a number of sites that give good information. Or try "hpv diagnosis." Some sites are full of medical jargon, but others are understandable. Post again if you're still not finding what you need.
