    John deere GT225 wiring diagram
The mower deck on my JD GT225 will not engage. I replaced the pto switch after checking for loose connections, bare wires and cleaning the battery connections. Ideas?

    Hi,
Check the fuses on the circuit board on the right side under the hood on the frame of the steering pedestal. The relays on the board can also go bad. Check for power on the blue wire going to the clutch (+) and frame ground with someone in the seat(you could even sit in the seat, switch on, brake off and pull PTO switch and listen for the clutch to click.)
That circuit board is attached to the switch and is a common failure point.
    Peace,
    Clarke

You can unplug the pto clutch and check for current with voltmeter when its turned on if there's juice there maybe the clutch itself, you can hot wire it if it clicks probably OK if not pto probably will need to be replaced
