7 counts in New Jersey... how long is the estimated jail time?
My friend was indicted on one count each of marijuana distribution and marijuana possession with intent to distribute, four counts of aggravated assault and one count of making terroristic threats

    This is in New Jersey

If they have enough evidence to convict get a plea bargain. Most likely 10 years anyway. It could be a lot more. If there are a lot of prior convictions it could be worst

He was already on probation for possession I think.

His brother told me 10 years but I didn't want to believe it :(

If he was already on probation when this other crime was committed he will first have to satisfy the new charges and sit in jail and then he will have to attend the VOP hearing and sit in jail for the first conviction as he won't be given probation again in a big hurry. I tend to agree with his brother on the 10 years' jail time.

    Hello m:

Prosecutors often throw everything they have against a wall hope something sticks. Being charged with stuff is a long way from being convicted of stuff. So, it's difficult to tell whether he had a couple grams of pot, and cops got excited, or whether he had pounds, scales and lots and lots of baggies... I too, don't know whether he actually beat people up, or got into a bar fight, which, again, excited the cops. Plus, I have no idea what he's on probation for...

Soooooo, it's really IMPOSSIBLE to tell you how much time he could do. From what I KNOW, I'd give it a range of from a couple WEEKS, to 20 YEARS. What I'm saying is, without context, it's just a wild guess.
