I just bought a new game and its not working hoew do I get it to work?

If other games are working on your ps2 then you definitely no it's the game. Check the disc for scratches and try to cleanit if it still doesn't work check your memory card, if your memory card is quite old and you have played that game before if you have a previous save of that game on your card from a long time ago delete it and try to load your game again
