In a traditional wedding, does the flower girl have to wear the same color as the bride?
This is your wedding do it as you like. I have seen it both ways. Just one more decision to make.Best Wishes!
Thank you Unluckynut!
That's entirely up to you, its your day so you decide what she wears, same goes with bridesmaids, its usually the bride that chooses, although most consult with the immediate families plus the grooms parents and groom are also often including in choosing the colour scheme or theme.
Sometimes the flower girl wears white or the same shade of white as the bride, but just as often they wear something that coordinates with the bridemaids dresses. I was at a wedding recently where there were multiple flower girls who wore very simple white party dresses with thick sashes made from the same fabric as the bridesmaid dresses - very cute.
I have seen everything ( I do a couple of weddings a week on average)
In basic, today, you do it the way you want, any and everything goes,
Often it will be a similar color but is not required
I went to a wedding last year. The flower girl was in red, The bridesmaids were in different colours one green, one purple and one blue. Seems like you can have anything you want.
Everyone who posted makes sense - this is your special day and you can have the flower girl wear whatever you like.
When my oldest cousin married, I was her flowergirl and she wanted me to wear a long blue dress - so she would have the "something blue" and it worked out fine.
Unless your wedding is going to be highly formal, you should just go ahead with what you will like.
Good luck!
