I am checking to see if my son is able to apply for a gov. grant to start a business and if so is there a small window opportunity to get it. His release date is July of 2011.

What kind of business is he thinking about starting, please? Once a person has done their time and paid their "dues" to society, they are generally free to apply for monies in the forms of grants, loans, etc. just like other people.

There is no special grants for felons. They may apply for grants as anyone else
