    I have not gotten a period since I left the hospital in my son is 3months now.. this is my 1st time breastfeeding and I just want to no wats going on with me..

    It's not uncommon for breastfeeding mothers NOT to get a period. Some have fed as long as 2 years or more without a period.

    It is also well established that breasfeeding can aid in preventing pregnancy.

    This is absolutely normal and expected. Newborns breastfeed a lot, as I'm sure you've noticed. There must be regular gaps of more than four hours in sucking before your period can come back.

    Typically this happens if the baby starts to sleep through the night, or when the baby starts solids at six months. Then you can expect your period again.

    In the meantime, enjoy not having it.
