I would not say panic. But I would suggest getting him into the doctor and ask the doctor. Preferably an opthomologist.

Heterochromia (also known as a heterochromia iridis or heterochromia iridium) is an ocular condition in which one iris is a different color from the other (complete heterochromia), or where part of one iris is a different color from the remainder.

There are no current medical implications so far. However, this may have an effect on his vision, in the effected eye, later on down the road.
