Crime to expose identity of witness in federal witness protection program?
Can someone cite me to the statute that makes exposing identity of witness in federal witness protection program a crime?

This has been asked before and this is what I cited then: BOP: Victim/Witness Notification Program.

I don't know what you mean by "citing" you to the statute. Do you mean you need someone to cite a statute or law?

Or are you looking for specific case law?

I assume that it is a crime to expose the identity of a federaly protected witness although I do not know that to be the case. If it is a crime, I am looking for the federal statute that makes it a criminal offense.

It is a crime to out someone in the WPP but not a crime for the person in the WPP to out themselves. This info in the Department of Justice website.

I have no idea what you just said. What Government "staff" handbook? I worked for the Feds. We were ENCOURAGED to be whistleblowers. That's one of the problems with working for the Feds.
