Requesting my ex husbands income from his employers
I have been divorced for going on three years now and me and my ex are in and out of court for various issues regarding our children, we have another court date for August 10 regarding child support. My ex has been lying about how much he reaaly makes. I know for a fact that he has a pretty good salary because he is spending money like crazy on his new house that he just bought. Has anybody ever requested their ex's employer to send them proof of how much their makes? If so.Please tell me what I should do...

If you feel confident that he makes more than he is claiming, you should definitely contact Child Services. They should be able to help you legally investigate and take action against him to collect.Because of privacy rights, I don't think that there is a way you can get a copy of his tax return unless through court order or divisions such as child services.

YOU don't request his financial records, whether pay stubs, W2 or tax returns. Your attorney has the court issue a subpoena for the records and have it served on the employer or himself etc.

Where are you located? Do either of you have legal representation?

Here in Wisconsin, both parents are required to submit their most recent W-2s and paystubs - regardless of whether they are represented or acting pro se.
