How does my father in law pass his house over to his daughter who lives with him.
Father in law has three daughters and four sons. At present his will shares all his estate between the seven children. The said daughter has lived with him and looked after him for a number of years and he wishes for her to remain in the home after his death.

Does he want her to own the house? If so, he can modify his will to bequest the house directly to her. That might be the best way. If he just wants her to remain in the house until her death, he can put in his will that he wants her to remain in the house, paying all taxes and expenses until her death at which time the house will be sold and the proceeds distributed to the remaining heirs.

What is the value of the house and approximate value of his estate? That could laso have a bearing on the best way to do this.
