    Sprinter Fuel filter flashing light
Hi I have a 5 year old 313cdi sprinter. I had the fuel filter changed on a service recently (part of service) but noticed the light flashing at about knee height (something to do with water in the fuel! ) within a few hundred miles The fuel filter (£45.00) was changed again, so that is now £90.00 spent and the problem persists, it is not on constantly, just flashes on the overrun, and on acceleration, and is off about as much time as on. The engine runs fine and seems to be OK any thought?

    Thought:

Check the brand of fuel filter they installed. Insist on an OEM product. On Ford Power Stroke Diesels, aftermarket fuel filters can cause the fuel pressure to be too low. It may be a similar situation with your car, where the sensor is sensing restriction, due to the construction of the filter, and causing the fuel light to come on.
