Can I drill and tap a cast iron tub
I just installed a shower door kit in my bathroom. The bottom track moves a little in the center and keeps letting water seep through. Is it possible to drill a small hole ond install a screw in the center to keep the track from moving? It`s an older tub,I think it`s cast iron.

    Hi Jamieo...

You are better off levering the track up a bit and installing an ADHESIVE CAULKING under the track. Use a 2"x4" stud or something similar to wedge the track down for a 24 hour period... that should keep the track from bulging back upward.

If that fails to work I'd recommend removing the bottom track and cutting an 1/8" off... then reinstall.

I would not drill the track just in case you or someone else decides to remove that shower door down the road!
