    Home dye on bleached hair?
I need some advice on dying my own hair at home; I usually have a hair dresser come to my house and highlight my hair, I was under the impression she was using tint on my air.
Then after a while my hair was falling out and snapping; she told me this was due to me losing my pregnancy hair; I didn't believe her and later found out she's been using bleach. So now I have stopped having my hair done by her and obviously have developed roots.
Can I do my own hair with a box dye? What type would I need? My hair won't go green will it?

Highlites need bleach, plus colour to get the right effect. She was doing nothing wrong, but your hair was probably over-worked, thus snapping, breaking off.

Box dyes contain all pertinent ingredients plus bleach, but there are kits to highlite as well. A lot of women do their own hair at home. LORreal is a good product, as is Garnier.
