Ok, I remember this being a movie but I could be wrong. What I remember is that there are these little creatures/animals that live on land, maybe in a forest. The bad guy is an octopus (or similar creature) and captures the little animals in white bubbles. A particular scene I remember is there are a few creatures in this hollowed out log and the octopus/creature is slowly coming through towards them. When you get too close it sort of releases this white bubble and you're trapped inside.

I think one of the characters played the harmonica. I remember watching it as a kid in the 90's. It's been bothering me for the longest time!
