I was caught shoplifting yesterday and I had my two small children in the stroller. The items maybe came to $200. I feel guilty, horrible and sick thinking about my mistake. I have a clean record and have never done anything like this before. What can I expect when I go to court? I'm so scared. They have video of me and took pictures of what I had taken and they have a witness. I'm terrified.

Where? I see any number of charges - did anyone mention that you had your children with you? I am surprised that no one called Child Protective Services.

At any rate - expect a fine, you have to make restitution (pay the store for their expenses), possibly probation and a long, hard lecture.

I would not call shoplifting a mistake when you get to Court - I would call it very bad judgment.
