I need to change the compressor. A contracter sent me a quote for it.
Thermal zone compressor (3 ton) with R22, total amount including tax,filling R22,installation and compressor.
Is this resonable price?

Sounds a little high to me. Is it just the compressor that's being replaced, or the complete condenser, line set, and evap coil. In my area, you could get a complete new r410 system installed for less than 5400. Is this by chance a heat pump?

Wow,, about 3,000 bucks too much

I know that everything's so expensive in NY/NJ. It's much higher than I think. Im still waiting more opinion. Please let me know your advise. I requested more estimates, too.
