    Putting a Refrigerator in Storage
How can I be sure the fridge will work and be safe to use after 6-12 months in storage?

Hello MLB2560 I am Dr. Mill, refrigerator and appliance expert. Your refrigerator will be fine if you store it for up to 10 years!

Store with door open about one to two inches. Put something between door and fridge to keep door from closing completely, then tape in that position with duct tape. Get some fiberglass window screening , cut in to strips and cover opening to keep rodents and insects out. If you are transporting the fridge to storage, DO NOT ever lay a fridge over on its back or side. Always keep upright.
